Almost 30 years ago I took my first cruise. I was in my 20's and some friends planned a cruise on Princess and asked if we wanted to come along. "Sure, why not?" It sounded like fun. In time 5 couples committed to the cruise. It took a lot of saving and budgeting to go on that cruise! At one point my husband said we couldn't go, and I told him he could sit at home, but there was no way I was letting everyone else go without me!
A couple months before the cruise, our travel agent called us saying that the cruise was overbooked, and Princess wanted to know if we'd wait about 6 weeks and go on a different cruise, that was 10 days instead of 7, with no price increase. It was a no-brainer for all of us! Some folks not going on the cruise with us said we'd be bored doing a 10-day cruise as our first cruise, that we should have stuck to the 7-day.
Well, let me tell you what...we got on that beautiful ship and fell instantly in love with cruising - the dining, the entertainment, the pampering and attention to detail, the beautiful weather and the lovely ports. It was nice because I could do as much or as little as I wished. The last night of the cruise I was sad to be leaving. Every other vacation I'd been on, even though I'd enjoyed it thoroughly, I would be ready to go home. This vacation was different...I didn't want to go home! I could have happily stayed on that ship for another 10 days!
From then on I've been a fan of cruising. I haven't cruised as often as I'd liked to have but it's still my favorite way to travel. I love the idea of unpacking just once and being able to see something new or be someplace different in a day or two.
My goal is to help you fall in love and find your dream cruise at the perfect price so that you can experience the joy of cruising as I did, whether it's your first or 50th cruise!
